Accountant (Building Materials)

Our client is a key player in the building materials space with major interest in the dealership of sanitary wares, doors, tiles and accessories.

Our client is looking to hire an experienced Accountant to administer and maintain accurate and up to date records of financial books in accordance with a predetermined company standard accounting procedure consistent with international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of statutory financial reports.

Preparation of budgets and cash projections.

Reconciliation of accounts receivables and payables.

Analytical review of products performance through variance.

Cash flow management.

Liaising with statutory agencies on product importation & documentation.

Preparation of management reports on monthly basis.

Preparation & filling of tax returns to the administration (PAYE, WHT & VAT).

Preparation & remittance of statutory pension.

Preparation of payroll & computation of tax liabilities.

Contract costing & project evaluation.

Monitoring & enforcement of internal control procedures.

Interfacing with external auditors & tax regulatory agencies.

Interfacing with government agencies on compliance with its regulations & laws.

Any other duties or functions assigned to him by the immediate superior or the MD.

Requirements

A Bachelor s degree in accounting or similar discipline, with a minimum grade of 2.1 or upper credit for HND graduate.

Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, etc. is necessary.

At least 3-5 work experience in retail, furniture or related industry.

Experience working in retail, warehousing, logistics or similar roles.

Keen attention to details.

Excellent analytical skills.

Teamwork spirit.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Knowledge of accounting software e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, cloud computing etc.

Strong experience with excel and other Microsoft office packages.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Demonstrate strong ability to manage financial and accounting books.

Trustworthy & honest with an impeccable character/attitude.

Ability to work under pressure.

Ability to drive with a valid driver s license.
