The Role

We are looking to recruit aWills and Probate Solicitorto join our growing team. This role is a full-time position and consideration will be given to individuals who have at least 2 year s experience. You will report to the Head of the Department and will be offered a flexible location to work from, this being either our Stockton or Middlesbrough office.

Key aspects of the role include:

The purpose of the role is to provide efficient and effective legal advice ensuring that the advice given is accurate and comprehensive and that all advice provided is clearly recorded on file, whilst assisting and representing clients, always maintaining the highest of professional standards of client care and managing a caseload. The successful candidate will ensure that they respond to all client and third-party communications promptly and progress the matter to a conclusion within a reasonable time scale.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Adhere to both SRA regulatory requirements and industry-standard best practice
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data security
  • To supply a high level of service to all areas of the Group
  • Always demonstrate clear and polite communication skills with members of the Group, external agencies and clients
  • Comply with the procedures and standards set out in the Office Manual
  • Follow health, safety and environmental guidelines and procedures in respect of personal and department activities
  • To provide an additional resource to other departments in times of high business levels
  • Ensures client service is at the heart of the department
  • Comply with the procedures and standards set out in the Office Procedures Manual and with all relevant or appropriate professional and training standards, keeping a proper record of work done.
  • Deal with correspondence and telephone queries, managing the client s expectations.
  • Representations of clients at court, if applicable.
  • Provide written advice to the client, where necessary.
  • Produce documents and instructions and obtain expert reports.
  • Assess clients for public funding/legal representation.
  • Keep up to date with the changes in the law and procedures.
  • Deal quickly and efficiently with clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Meet chargeable time and financial targets, as agreed with the Partners. Attend meetings and training sessions, where relevant.
  • Manage own continuing professional development.
  • File management and administration.
  • Time recording.
