Lead of Accounts Payable (m/f/d)

As Lead of Accounts Payable (LAP), you are accountable for the technically correct and timely accounting of assigned business transactions, including but not limited to all expenses and related accounts payables and payments.

Together with your team, you prepare and provide reliable and timely accounting information to internal and external stakeholders. In your position, you are responsible for a significant part of our operational financial controlling, including monitoring expense-related accrual, (transaction) taxes, cash flow optimization. You passionately support business value creation while relying on harmonized processes, methods, and tools to efficiently lead global accounting. Tasks

You will be working in:

English (fluency required), German is a big plus.

How you will make an impact:

• Technical and disciplinary leadership of the Accounts Payable department as well as the further development of your team (2 employees) through your leadership by good examples.
• Involved in the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department to ensure proper cost accounting and calculation of accruals and provisions.
• Together with your team reliable for our national and international payment transactions.
• Support the monitoring on VAT/GST compliance and accounting standards in our national and international companies; you will be responsible for checking and submitting the advance VAT/GST returns and annual declarations.
• Working on the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and tax declarations of our national and international companies.
• As Lead of Account Payables, you are in an important interface position regarding operational, process-related further development of standards and workflows in the P2P process; you will be responsible for the associated project work.
• As a finance professional you will advise and support other departments in finance, tax and controlling matters.

Requirements

Skills you will need to be successful:

• At least 5+ years relevant professional experience in an international environment, ideally with initial management experience.
• Successfully completed studies or commercial education in Accounting, Business Administration or similar qualification (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter IHK).
• Good knowledge of bookkeeping principles in HGB and/or local GAAP.
• Experience in assessing VAT/GST topics in international service transactions.
• Systematic, solution-oriented and pragmatic way of working with excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
• Respecting and understanding different cultural values with strong communication skills - you see yourself as a strategic service partner at the interface between the Accounts Payable department and other specialist departments as well as suppliers.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central, OPPlus, Continia (Document Capture) are nice to have.
