As an appreciated member of Finance Team, you prepare and provide reliable and timely accounting information to internal and external stakeholders. Within our Finance Team, the Accounts Payable Accountant has the global responsibility for account payables. In this context, you are responsible for the correct accounting of all accounts payable and related entries, including reconciliation between accounts payable, general ledger and group payables. Together with Team Accounts Receivable, you control the spendings on media campaigns, incl. calculating accruals. Other OPEX are also checked, accounted and verified on a monthly basis by you and your colleagues. In addition, you are responsible for preparing the data for submitting VAT/GST returns in a timely manner for all entities (where applicable).

Tasks

You will be working in:

English (fluency required), German is a big plus.

How you will make an impact:

  • Processing and posting the accounting of our national and international entities
  • Check and book media vendor invoices and other expenses as well as calculating accruals for outstanding invoices (Account payables).
  • Prepare payment runs and book bank transactions and cash equivalents (Cash management).
  • Support with monthly closing, and annual audits, including relevant G/L entries according to HGB and GAAP (Reports).
  • Support on intercompany reconciliations, incl. settlements and liquidity planning (Consolidation).
  • Initiate regular VAT/GST filings and maintain compliance checklists for all of your assigned entities (Taxation).
  • Assist and execute ad hoc project work as required.
  • Support consistently on process optimizations.

Requirements

Skills you will need to be successful:

  • At least 2+ years relevant working experience in financial accounting for an international environment.
  • Successfully completed commercial education in Accounting or Business Administration or similar qualification.
  • Respecting and understanding different cultural values.
  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping principles in HGB and/or local GAAP of NL/FR.
  • Organizational talent with an independent and structured way of working.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central, OPPlus, Continia (Document Capture) is a big plus.
