Legal Counsel - Production (m/f/d)

At Deep Blue Recruitment, we are hiring a Legal Counsel for a leading European production company. Being the first legal hire in Germany, you will join the global legal function and manage a range of production-related legal matters (Commercial, Copyright, Compliance, etc) for the German market.

Tasks

• Provide legal advice to the German teams and the management on all legal issues in line with the company risk profile.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts - general media, production, creative, employment, syndication, consultancy, freelance, production clearances, licensing, all contracts for original documentaries and the occasional scripted programming, GDPR compliance, and DPIA assessments.
• Advising on legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to the business.
• Co-operating with the General Counsel regarding training the business on risk and compliance.
• Support with occasional employment law matters.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience at a law firm or in a production house.
• Pragmatic approach and the ability to readily identify risk and how to manage and mitigate risk.
• You like to work in a team and find that communication is an important part of successful teamwork.
• You are fluent in written and spoken German and English.
