The Opportunity
The Sales Director will lead the promotion and sales of our full suite of Global eCommerce Solutions and build strong client relationships within the retail industry. Focusing on direct sales in the UK, he/she will be responsible for leading and driving business development opportunities, effectively identifying and onboarding new clients from initial opportunity screening, customer workshops and solution design, until opportunity gain and contract signature.
The role includes sales strategy development and supporting customer growth efforts in the targeted industry, as well as analysing current technology trends impacting end customer experience and technology adoption to influence product development, generate more revenue resources, and increase the company's profits in the industrial vertical.
Applicants should be of an entrepreneurial mind set, be target driven and results oriented with a work ethic that will affect change, yielding substantial results, and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Achieving all revenue and P&L targets as well as qualitative objectives in line with corporate goals for the specific industrial vertical in the Region
  • Recognized as trusted subject matter expert within ESW for the industrial vertical
  • Maintaining and updating addressable market data and competitive activities within the industrial vertical. Conduct regular market research to identify suitable prospects for targeting of direct sales activity
  • Collaborate with the team to develop strategies for meeting Regional/Industry sales goals
  • Manage sales pipeline in CRM system for predictable revenue generation, prioritization, and forecasting
  • Managing the sales process for new prospects, from initial contact to closure
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned account support and relationship management
  • Manage regional partner relationships and work closely with our partners to support their sales of the ESW product, throughout the entire sales cycle
  • Develop a full understanding of the competition and construct effective sales strategies and value propositions
  • Develop and support necessary marketing initiatives to enable lead generation and prospect identification
  • Analyse innovative technologies and forecast new market trends
Key Experience & Skills
  • 8+ years of proven sales success with a minimum 5 years of experience selling eCommerce platform solutions and/or Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully closing complex deals with an average size of £3M per annum or greater
  • Ability to build a network of useful relationships and effective alliances with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Detailed knowledge of the online retail sector within the retail industry in the UK, with existing relationships at decision maker level within organizations
  • eCommerce process expertise, with a full understanding of the B2C sector, particularly regarding the customer experience and key challenges within cross border trade
  • Strong commercial acumen, with ability to present and negotiate contractual and commercial terms and conditions
  • Extensive experience in on going account management, with demonstrated results in continued account nurturing and upselling
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with a high degree of persistence and resolve to achieve targets
