Relocation to Pemba Business Unit Manager (Business Development)

Our client, a Mozambican subsidiary, provides reliable Procurement and Project Solutions to the Energy, Construction, Mining, and Shipping Industries in Africa. Job Type: On Site in Pemba, Mozambique | Full-time

Requirements

  • Tertiary Education
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English
  • +5 years experience in supply chain management
  • Food industry background preferred
  • Experience in export, shipping, vessel management/operation is advantageous
  • Ability to establish and manage processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solution provider and resourceful
  • Efficient and effective individual
Responsibilities
  • Ensure optimal client satisfaction
  • Supply chain coordination, local and international procurement with group entities and third parties
  • Ensure complete and on time order deliveries
  • Establish and implement logistic planification
  • Ensure the compliance to all statutory obligations
  • Responsible for the overall profitability across the various activities including budget control and P&L monitoring
  • Assist with necessary recruitment to ensure optimal and profitable service delivery
  • Participate in regular personal evaluations, KPI appraisals
  • Manage absenteeism, poor performance as well as any other HR related issues
  • Stay within the Mozambican legislation
  • Implementation of group processes
  • Strict daily, weekly, and monthly inventory management
  • Ensuring teams adherence to processes and stock levels always matching ERP data
  • Define and implement optimal warehouse management and organisation
  • Ensure cold chain is preserved and adherence to food health regulations, international best practice
  • Promotion of all the products ranges
  • Commercial follow up to develop sales
  • Planification with the team of commercial actions and reporting on results
  • Management and maintenance of the assets such as warehouse, cold rooms, racking, plant equipment, and vehicles
  • Select and manage the service providers needed to ensure suitable preventative maintenance to avoid down time on any equipment
  • Special care to refrigeration units to avoid break down and down time
