Job Description

The Instrument & Process Control engineer will be responsible to monitor and trouble shoot the oil, gas and utilities Process Control System and field instruments of Khurais Central Processing Facility in addition to three other remote facilities located in Central Arabia and Mazalij areas. The candidate shall have a thorough understanding of plant unit operations, process control system technologies, field instrumentation technologies, business drivers, and economic evaluations. The Instrument & Process Control engineer shall also demonstrate the ability to work and lead multidisciplinary teams for troubleshooting, investigation & root cause analysis, conceptual designs, operation supports that provide basis for management s decision.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to Operations and Maintenance to troubleshoot Process related issues
  • Develop and review the engineering design packages for any control system and field instrumentation for new or upgrade projects
  • Review project proposal design packages
  • Update and maintain engineering documentation and drawings
  • Propose and trial test new technologies
  • Develop, monitor and report Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop and mentor young Engineers
  • Provide analysis, evaluation and interpretation to support projects, processes and financial evaluations related to This Company Capital Investment decisions
  • Interact regularly with other professionals in various company organizations involved in capital planning and economic analysis

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical/Control System Engineering, MS is preferred
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • At-least 10 years of experience as a Instrumentation & Process Control Engineer, and with enough experience in the oil & gas sector preferably in upstream operations including separation traps, dehydrators, desalters, compressors, gas dew point and dehydration systems and utilities. Engineer with operation and design background is preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of industry standards and codes is required to support the design reviews and plant modifications
  • The Process Controls Engineer shall have and demonstrate skills in requirements gathering, design, configuration, integration and implementation of process control solutions for chemical industries including batch software, Yokogawa Centum VP DCS systems, Schneider Invensys ESD system, SCADA systems, and networking technology
  • Experienced in developing ISS and ILDs, DATA sheets etc.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting control system and field instrumentation issues and field equipment failures
  • Experienced in conducting risk assessments, safety integrity level SIL study and HAZOPs
  • Experienced in commissioning and testing process control system and equipment s
  • Experience in preparing instrument and process control system specifications and datasheets
  • Strong skills to communicate complex technical, economic and commercial concept in a clear manner to individuals or groups with diverse professional background
