(Healthcare) Chief Dietitian

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides direction and guidance to FLH Dietitians. Continuously seeks ways to improve the educational function of the FLH Dietitians and to meet/exceed customer expectations. Coordinates with Director of Nutritional Services facilitation of the established departmental goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

• Minimum:
  
• BS in Dietetics plus 1 yr. internship or equivalent
  

LICENSE:

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

• Minimum:
  
• Registered with The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  
• Preferred:
  
• Certification as a Dietician or Dietician/Nutritionist in New York State
  

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum:
  
• 3 years of clinical dietitian experience with at least two (2) years of demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  
• Preferred:
  
• Dietitian supervisory experience.
  
• Dietitian experience in both long term care and acute care settings
  

SKILLS:

• Minimum:
  
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and secure cooperation of all employees.
  
• Demonstrates initiative and sound judgement.
  
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity health system.
  
• Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
  
• Familiarity with NYSDOH and other food service regulations.
  
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.
  
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  
• Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point
