Job Description

The I&O Desktop Computing and Management (DCM) team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Analyst who loves working with technology!

The DCM team is responsible for supporting all workstations, hardware and software, and this role is pivotal to the team s success. This position requires exceptional technical and problem-solving abilities along with excellent leadership, teamwork, communication, and relationship building skills.



Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Enterprise Level Software Configuration Support:
    • Work with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM) to create packages and deploy to users.
    • Support and maintain Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Hybrid Azure Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft 365.
    • Create and support Windows group policies.
    • Work with VMWare vSphere and Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp to support our Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and remote user infrastructure.
  • Creation of corporate IT desktop policies to be pushed to everyone in organization.
  • Process Automation using scripting tools such as PowerShell.
  • Desktop Computing Support:
    • Provide desktop support of application or windows related issues.
    • Complete support tickets from the Service Desk and resolve production issues.
    • Using superior troubleshooting skills to resolve complex software and desktop issues.
  • Creation of operational and user documentation.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and peers.
  • Provide afterhours support when required.
  • Lead team projects and recurring operational activities.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the existing support processes through analysis and review as well as innovation and knowledge sharing.


WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A minimum of five years of senior level experience in desktop support and must have experience in one or more following areas:
    • Software configuration and packaging using MEM.
    • Cloud-based end point management using Intune.
    • Corporate IT desktop policies.
    • Process automation using scripts.
  • A Bachelor s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline is required.
  • In depth knowledge and experience in but not limited to:
    • Windows 10
    • Microsoft Endpoint Manager
    • Intune
    • Apple device management / JAMF
    • Microsoft 365
    • Active Directory
    • Windows Group Policy
    • PowerShell
    • VMWare
    • Citrix
  • Customer oriented with patience to work with customers of varying technical abilities.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, strong problem-solver who can work effectively under pressure.
  • Leader with a big picture mentality bringing different perspectives and solutions forward.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for continuous learning, researching new technology and tackling complex challenges.
  • Able to mentor and coach team members.
  • Project leadership skills would be highly beneficial.
  • Microsoft certification would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Mac OS and Mac hardware device management would be beneficial.
  • Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports client and Oracle workstation infrastructure would be an asset.
