Job Description
One of the biggest brands in Specialist Surface protection/Coatings is currently seeking a Works Manager. Covering everything from day to day running of the team(s) to making sure the end results are delivered on time.
This a great challenge! And even better so, it comes with a progression plan for the successful Manager to progress to GM level, over the next few years.
This company has over 30 years of experience in applying coatings to a wide range of materials like steel, titanium and aluminium substrates, across multiple of sectors like Aerospace, defence, automotive. This company services customers all over the world.
Requirements
What are we looking for?
A Manufacturing Works Manager, with a good track record overseeing medium to small teams, of different disciplines within a manufacturing environment.
If you come from a specialise Coating, Surface technology sector, we definitely would like to hear from you. However realistically a good solid background in Works Management is a great start.
Also, additional key things for you to consider in your skills/experience -
Demonstrable extensive experience in a prior Production Management role
- Prior experience of leading a small-medium sized team (15+ personnel) - Essential
- Extensive experience of managing production processes is a pre-requisite for this role
- Training/Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous
- Able to identify and resolve problems using a structured and data driven approach
- Application of measurement, analysis or continuous improvement tools
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum HNC Qualified (Preferably in Manufacturing, Quality or Technical subject) or equivalent relevant experience
- Basic Quality Management Systems qualifications/experience ISO9001 (AS9100 preferred)

Degree in engineering related discipline OR HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
