The Group consists of three divisions VetPlus a global leader in companion animal nutraceuticals, Agri Lloyd, an agriculture focused unit and Mill Farm Sports Village a multi-purpose leisure complex incorporating a fully owned football club with associated facilities.

About the role

The Centre Manager is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the education centre staff, delivering a first-class service to all stakeholders, whilst providing support on all day-to-day operations.

Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the facility, sales plays a key part in this role. Providing a fantastic customer experience before, during and after play, the goal is to ensure customer retention and revenue growth. Leading from the front, utilising and mentoring the team with the aim of growing the business and making Fylde Sports & Education Centre the best place to come and play all weather sport on the Fylde Coast!

Your main responsibilities range from but not limited to the following areas:

Sales

  • To maximise all weather sports revenue through the development of our all weather football and hockey propositions
  • To be proactive - requiring you to get out in the community and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Meet and exceed all sales plans on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
  • Be responsible for all sales and coordination of bookings to maximise revenue
  • Creation and management of leagues

People

  • Ensure the team are constantly identifying and responding to changes in patterns of customer needs and expectations.
  • Provide effective leadership to the team within the centre enabling people to perform to their full potential.
  • Implement all company HR procedures to the team within the centre.
  • Identify any training/development needs to ensure ongoing competence of those involved in service delivery.
  • Full responsibility for recruitment, induction, training, appraisal, development and performance management of staff.
  • Ensure all staff personnel files are completed, maintained and updated where necessary.

Performance

  • To develop, implement and evaluate operational policies & procedures for the education centre.
  • Produce and manage performance of all KPIs
  • Analyse and interpret data to identify how the centre s performance can be improved both operationally and financially.
  • Devise, implement and monitor performance standards to ensure sales targets and customer needs are met by individual staff.

Financial

  • Ensure all costs are kept within agreed plan and continuously seek to achieve efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities for external funding which support business aims and objectives.
  • Set, drive and achieve financial targets and KPI s, including customer service, utilisation and revenue targets.
  • Ensure security measures and policies relating to cash, stock and assets are implemented effectively.

Operations

  • Effectively manage the building, equipment and materials to ensure their effective use and the safety of all staff and visitors.
  • Maintain and promote safe working practices through the development and implementation of appropriate safety policies and procedures. Ensure team adhere to health and safety guidance and legislation.
  • Ensure timely and thorough investigation of any accidents and that procedures are in place to reduce risk of claims.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and all Health & Safety procedures and records are kept up to date, and that staff are fully briefed on all aspects of Health and Safety legislation and industry guidelines.
  • Manage all team rotas and compliance to meet the needs of the business.
  • Liaise with the ECBM to ensure all events and bookings are correctly organised.
  • To be responsible for all F&B activities within the education centre ensuring the highest standards while maintaining cost control.

Customers

  • Consult proactively with service users, partners, stakeholders and employees with the aim of maximising participation and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate both internal and external feedback and take appropriate action with a view to continuously improve service.
  • Ensure that customer focus is promoted as a core value by all staff.
  • Develop, maintain and promote partnership working with the aim of improving customer retention and represent the centre at meetings with relevant external stakeholders.
  • Deal with complaints and general queries escalated from centre staff.
  • Monitor customer and club partner feedback with the aim of improving services where possible.

Partnerships

  • Regularly meet with Centre Partners (Fylde Hockey, Academy, Education Foundation) to ensure terms of usage are being adhered to and adequate service is being provided to them.
  • Negotiate updated terms with partners as and when required.
  • Work with partners to increase exposure of the centre via internal and external events in the local community.
  • Ensure partner groups are invoiced as per their terms and money received for all bookings used.

Other

  • Identify funding opportunities for new projects from both public and private sector sources.
  • Work closely with the Mill Farm MD to organise promotional and marketing activity
  • Attend industry events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns and services that will lead to an increase in sales.

Hours of work:

  • 5 days per week over 7 days (6 days per week Saturday match-day weeks)
  • Mixture of hours and shifts to meet business needs and fluctuations.
  • Must work all match days and Bank Holidays
