Responsibilities:

    • Using industry best practices, develop and drive projects and the license compliance program to ensure software and hardware licensees meet Dolby licensing obligations.
    • Drive Dolby’s license compliance program implementation, working with Dolby’s Sales and Marketing management teams to strengthen and promotes compliance-related behaviors and climate with executives, managers, and representatives.
    • Provide insight and guidance to Dolby stakeholders, conveying deep business understanding to further customer demand of Dolby Technology.
    • Integrate technical and Dolby business knowledge to direct worldwide targeting efforts.
    • Where appropriate, develop external partnerships in pursuit of Dolby’s compliance program.
    • Communicate plans and progress to Dolby’s senior leaders and stakeholders.
    • Oversee data integrity in support of targeting, pre-inspection analytics, and data enrichment.
    • Keep apprised of significant developments and trends in the field and apply technical expertise to further Dolby’s compliance programs.

Requirements:

    • Minimum of 4 years of forensic and business data analytics with a focus on audit experience required.
    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • Ability to influence, resolve, and negotiate issues with customers.
    • Keen interest in technology and licensing in the context of intellectual property.
    • Experience with building solid relationships and instilling trust with internal and external customers.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, conveying project plans, processes, policies, and issues to stakeholders.
    • An analytical individual with a passion for problem-solving that can present clear and impactful executive-level solutions

Requirements:

**PREFERENCE (and priority)local Bay Area candidates but open to considering fully remote candidates as well-ADD LOCATION IN THE RESUME

    • If located in the Bay Area, should be open to commuting to the downtown SF office once a week or as needed

** Initial Assignment: 6 months but high possibility of extension

** Will work the Dolby 9/80 schedule

**NOTES:

    1. Team primary task is doing royalty audits so contract compliance experience is important.
      • Focus on customerContract Complianceto ensure customers are reporting revenues correctly and inline with their contracts/agreements. Sometimes, customers miss reporting revenues from certain divisions or products and this is what the audit is for.
      • Associated tasks: resolving issues, working with the customer for payment of any that have been missed during royalty submission, closing the audit.Heavy in data analytics, helping the team out for documentation, sending out letters as needed and reaching out to customers.
    2. Required: advanced Excel experience specifically in vlookups and pivot tables. If the candidates do not have this expertise, do not submit.
    3. Able to read contracts and identify risk areas
    4. Question to Manager:What does the best candidate look like to you?
      • Key Indicator: Audit background
        • Mindset of auditor (financial, internal) but NOT IT Auditor, this will not be a fit and will be rejected
      • Analytics focused: has experience analyzing and comparing data
      • Extracting Data from table sets/Excel
      • Has process improvement work experience or program improvement
    5. Question to Manager:Softer skills needed?
      • Strong written and spoken communications skills. Screen for those who are able to articulate an issue well and are able to be understood easily when they speak as they will be liaising with Dolby customers and internal stakeholders to identify and resolve any compliance issues.
      • Emotional Intelligence: ability to lead conversations and work with varying personalities to hold position and be persuasive enough to help bring resolution to any issues encountered.
    6. Experience at Tech companies preferred; experience at Big 4 accounting firms huge plus.
    7. Accounting certifications a plus.
    8. Supply chain audition experience will be helpful for this role.
    9. This role will require this person to manage audits of our licensees usually conducted by third party audit firms. We might travel to headquarters two to four times a year (for group meetings) and potentially a couple times a year for meetings with the sales team. If this person is based outside of where our main office location is and where other team members are (i.e. San Francisco or London), then they may be required to travel more often to meet up with other team members for training and internal meetings.
    10. Will mostly manage US/North America audits but could also manage some EMEA audits. We also do some one off audits in other parts of the world.Our team works together to divvy up the audits we do so we always can work with someone if there are certain travel restrictions.
    11. Some other possible titles of prior job could be:
