Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Mine Overseer to manage and oversee multiple aspects of an underground gold mine site.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead and motivate team to safely achieve targets
  • Ensure conformance with mine safety standards
  • Ensure legal compliance
  • Resource planning
  • Managing contractors
  • Cost control
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders including Health & Safety Department, Shift Bosses, TMM Engineer, Shaft Engineer, Section Manager, Mining Manager, other Mine Overseers, Technical Service Functions and HR

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Grade 12
  • Mine Overseer Certificate of Competence
  • Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competence highly advantageous
  • 10 years U/G mining experience
  • Previous gold mine or hard rock experience
  • 5 years’ experience with Vertical shaft operations
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities
  • Medically fit
