Analog Design Engineer

Position Name:Analog Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

Working as an Analog Design Engineer based in Tokyo, you will:

• Design, verification, and simulation of CMOS Analog blocks for power management circuits including voltage references, bias circuits, comparators, and amplifiers meeting performance, area, and power specifications.
• Collaborate with block leads to achieving system and design strategy for power management products.
• Guide layout team to ensure the quality of the layout of own design.
• Drive silicon debugging and design characterization.
• Drive lab evaluation in collaboration with Application Engineers for own design.
• Produce high-quality documentation for own IP blocks.
• Working closely with DFT engineers to ensure that own blocks follow the existing strategy and implementation for DFT.
• Work closely with test and product engineers to support test development and ramp to production.
• Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
• Contribute to schematic and layout block-level reviews for blocks initially designed by others.
• Take technical leadership for sub-systems and drive them from specification to production ramp.
• Interpret requirement specifications to achieve system and design strategy for power management products.
• Take a proactive approach to drive your own development plan, utilizing team members and internal development opportunities.
• Any ad hoc tasks as deemed reasonable by your manager.

Qualifications:

• Degree level qualification in Electronics Engineering (MSEE/Ph.D. preferred) or a related discipline typically required.
• 5 – 12 years experience at the Senior/Principal level
• Strong competence with various tools and procedures, reaching specialist level
• Ability to work with minimal instruction – either independently or collaboratively
• Ability to make good judgment in selecting methods/techniques for obtaining solutions
• Able to confidently share own expertise and work with others
• Able to make a significant contribution or lead & co-ordinate projects, programs, and business initiatives with creativity and ingenuity
• Ability to support and mentor less experienced team members
• Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Results-oriented and able to deliver on time under a tight schedule
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexible to undertake occasional international travel at short notice

Must have proven design experience with at least a few of the following.

• Experience in switching converter non-isolated and/or isolated, A/D & D/A Converters, Oscillators, Bandgap reference circuits, LDOs, and Ultra-Low Iq technique
• Experience in high-voltage design is preferred
• Knowledge of global standards i.e., IATF16949, ISO26262
• Experience in the development of automotive applications or products.
