HIRING Head, Marketing & Business Development Manager (Luxury Home & Office Furniture)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Our client is a major player in the furniture industry in Nigeria, specializing in the sale of luxury home and office furniture, interior design, sanitary wares, and makeovers for residential and commercial spaces in Nigeria.

The Company is in search of Head, Marketing and Business Development Manager with experience in luxury furniture, interior designs and sanitary wares sales in Nigeria for both residential and commercial spaces.

Job Summary: This role will be responsible for overseeing the commercial sales activities of the firm and will provide leadership to the sales and marketing team. He/she will be charged with the responsibility of achieving the sales and revenue goals of the business by developing and implementing value-added sales and marketing strategies with a special focus on corporate projects, government and private individuals.

Our ideal candidate must have a proven track record of sales in luxury furniture, interior designs and sanitary wares in Nigeria with focus on the Lagos market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing programs to support specific marketing objectives (corporate sales) across different channels and segments in support of our overall strategic marketing plan.
  • Effective and efficient coordination of company s marketing and business development operations both in public and private sector with special focus on corporate projects and high net worth individuals.
  • Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, driving collaborations with the stakeholders and leveraging the right internal processes.
  • Develop cutting-edge value chain marketing and business development synergy for the company.
  • Work aggressively with other marketing/sales team, internal stakeholders, external agencies and vendors.
  • Supervise and oversee sales and marketing of company s products and services activities profitably thereby generating income for the company exceeding 85% sales target.
  • Identifying and networking new prospects with specific focus on corporate & high net worth individuals.
  • Conducting regular, relevant & structured trainings for the marketing & business development team.
  • Regularly organizing showroom retreat, technical presentations for product users and professionals (plumbers, architects, interior decorators, project engineers, hoteliers, estate developers, etc.] in the real estate, building & construction industry with the principal aim of creating awareness for the company s products/services.
  • Ensuring company s active participation in all local and professional exhibitions in Nigeria.
  • Preparing tenders, bills, quotation/invoice.
  • Registering the company as a vendor with all relevant professional stakeholders in the real estate, building, construction, corporate (public and private) sectors with the aim of generating consistent income for the company.
  • Growing the company s annual sales target optimally to 85% per annum.
  • Setting marketing and sales target for the client service and business development team.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the marketing and business development team s performance against set targets on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Develop business cases for marketing programs at the proposal stage and make recommendations on marketing tactics.
  • Evaluate the impact of marketing programs in achieving their stated objectives, including impact on lead flow, LTV and retention.
  • Propose and manage marketing research projects to generate consumer insights in support of improved marketing strategy and communications.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly/quarterly/annual of marketing & business development report to management.
  • Recruiting and training of staff.
  • In the absence of the managing director and/or executive director, preside over sales & marketing meetings.
  • Ensure monthly inventory is carried out latest first week of the new month and advise management on good inventory management including reordering.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be delegated to you by the managing director and/or executive director.



Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor s degree in marketing, architecture, or a similar discipline, must have at least a second class upper with a minimum of 10 years of working experience as a field marketing professional. An MBA or professional affiliate with the institute of marketing is an added advantage.
  • 8 years experience building & leading complex marketing programs and reporting on the results. Must have been a marketing/sales manager or team leader, leading a marketing team for at least 6-10years in same or similar industry.
  • 5 years core marketing experience in marketing luxury, furnishing/finishing products to stakeholders in the real estate, government, multinationals, construction & building industry, parastatals, private and public sectors and high net worth individual s projects.
  • Must have sound flair for interior decoration. Preferably, should have at least 5years working experience with a similar company in same capacity, marketing luxury products with special focus on corporate projects (public & private sector).
  • Demonstrate ability to make use of relevant interior/architectural based computer packages. E.g., auto-cad, revit, sketch-up, photoshop, adobe, etc.
  • Ability to lead a team of marketers and produce results.
  • Exposure to digital and direct response marketing, having capacity to write good project proposals/product presentations.
  • Demonstrate strong marketing/networking skills with relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, should be exceptionally creative, innovative and articulate in both written and oral communication.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to drive and travel as necessary.



Benefits

Base Pay is N300,000 N400,000 monthly + Sales Commission
