Job Description

- Installing windows or doors in new construction projects or replacing existing glass in existing structures
- Cutting and shaping glass to fit openings such as windows or door panels
- Installing laminated safety glass in vehicles and other applications
- Measuring and cutting glass sheets, using grinders or saws to cut curves in glass panes
- Installing tempered glass, which is stronger than standard glass but can still be broken easily with a hammer if smashed
- Installing glass doors, partitions, skylights, and other architectural features using masonry or drywall techniques
- Installing laminated glass in windshields, which can be done quickly using a grinding machine with diamond blades
- Installing glass shelves, cabinets, mirrors, and other furniture items that require drilling holes in walls or floors
- Installing tempered glass in security doors and windows to deter vandalism or breakage from impact
