Project Centre Netherlands is part of the Marine Power Project Service organization and is responsible for management of retrofit and conversion projects. These are projects concerning the engineering, assembly, supply, installation and commissioning of new diesel engines, ship propulsion systems and/or ship automation systems, as well as projects for modification, maintenance or repair of these systems.
What Will You Be Doing
AsProject Manager, you are responsible for the execution of a large number of projects within budget, schedule, quality, according to the contractual technical and commercial specifications and customers expectations. Projects vary in size as well as complexity, for each project, another project teams are formed which you will lead to ensure successful completion. The Project manager ensures external customer expectations are translated to the internal organization and all the different disciplines are connected to accomplish project result. The working environment is very internationally orientated. Engineering departments, production locations, W rtsil offices and suppliers can be found all over the world. Many different nationalities, languages and cultures are involved. The projects concern mainly multi portfolio projects varying in value from 500K euro to about 20M euro. A number of projects are carried out simultaneously.

With growing orderbook and sales funnel at an all time high the project delivery organisation needs to expand, and there for we are looking for a project manager to join our team. The location for this position is our office in Drunen or Zwolle (The Netherlands).
As Project Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Lead and manage assigned projects in compliance with Corporate Project Management Methodology and Business Directives.
- Develop plans for projects & Manages changes and stakeholders expectations.
- Make sure resources are assigned and available for project execution
- Leads external vendor selection, agrees on quality level
- Approves invoices, purchase orders and maintains project scope, time, quality and budget
- Report the status of projects as well as ensure that the status is according to approved project plans.
- Maintain and develop internal and external relationships and ensure that projects fulfil stakeholder expectations.
- Maintains customer relation, throughout the project.
- Ensures communication plans are build maintained and followed.
- Assists in the development of the project management department and project team members.
- Achieve common way of working within project teams and in project center.
- Taking care of continuous improvement of project management processes.
- Is part of sales capture teams to in relation to project execution.
- Ensure that the lessons learned are collected and communicate best practices within the organization.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Master or bachelor degree in engineering or maritime engineering
- 5 years or more proven experience in project management related to customer delivery in B2B environment.
- PMP Certification is an advantage.
- You function well in a team and have a customer orientated attitude.
- Independent and enterprising & Stress-proof and flexible deployment.
- Good communications and administrative skills and an open attitude and accessible in communication.
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages both orally and in writing.
- Willingness to travel +/- 10%
- General technical and functional knowledge of (ship) diesel engines, propulsion, electro-technology and/or peripheral equipment in this field is an advantage.
- Knowledge of project management, planning techniques.
- Knowledge of SAP processes and the maritime industry is an advantage.
