About the job

At sofatutor, we believe children and young people achieve their learning goals best when they learn at their own pace and can access different learning media. For this purpose, our team has created a digital learning platform that makes individual learning possible anytime and anywhere. We offer students the opportunity to learn or review school material with the help of learning videos, practice problems, and worksheets and other features.

As a tutor in our homework chat, you will be available for our students several times a week from 1 to 3 p.m. PST and make an important contribution with us to make learning easily accessible and student-centered. Currently we are looking for support for grades 1-6 in the subjects Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.

Your Mission

Thanks to your instant help in the chat, the students master the tricky challenges in their homework with ease. You will answer questions and provide assistance so that students can solve their tasks independently and celebrate a sense of achievement together with you. These are your exact tasks:

• Answering student questions in a 1-to-1 chat for your subject
• Helping students navigate the platform
• Additionally: answering questions via email in the question box

Requirements

Your Skills and Experience

You feel like trying out your didactic talent with a completely different form of learning and want to help students activate and use their knowledge. The following are the necessary requirements for this position:

• Must have completed or are currently seeking a teaching degree from an accredited school in one or more of the subjects presented on our platform

  • Virtual or in-person tutoring experience is a major plus

• Didactic experience and a flair for school challenges

• Fast and error-free typing on the keyboard

• High degree of reliability and independence

• Time availability 2 to 4 days per week between 1 and 3 p.m. PST
