Fixed Income Trader sell side
This role sits within Bank Client Securities division
Responsibilities
Manage the government bond distribution process based on our participations in purchase groups (primary market).
Maintain and provide the liquidity of securities (trading, market making).
Analyze financial product needs and make relevant acquisitions to resell at a profit for clients and bank.
Master the various computer tools to execute and record solicited transactions.
Demonstrate diligence and professionalism to minimize errors and correct those of internal and/or external clients.
Ensure the thorough application of industry standards and procedures.
Recognize that the professionalism of his or her work directly impacts salespeople/representatives, clients and the
corporate image of client.
Consistently monitor inventory levels, volatility and adversity to protect clients capital.
Ensure that the trading desk respects the aggregates and the limits of the counterparty and issuer.
Keep abreast of compliance and developments in his or her field and constantly upgrade his or her technical skills
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in administration, finance or economics and three years of brokerage experience or any other
relevant combination of education and experience
CFA, an asset
Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
The successful completion of the following Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) courses is required:
Canadian Securities Course
Conduct and Practices Handbook Course
Proficiency with Windows environment and Excel and Word software programs
Fluency in French and English would be asset
Mid-Senior level
