Job Description

Job Description: Responsibility:
-Hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment
-Design, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services.
-Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues.
-Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards.

Skills:
-Specific knowledge and 0 to 3 years of experience with Cisco and Juniper routers
-Knowledge of internetworking designs and their applications and routing
-Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies
-Experience with protocols
-Firewall experience such as (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG etc.)
-Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers
-Certifications such as (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are a plus

BNOC (Business Network Operations Center) for Comcast for major carriers like Time Warner, Charter, AT&T
Provide cellular connectivity from cell tower to main switching center

These engineers will support Comcast 5G initiative
building 5G network
Break fix agents for 5G sites; there are cell towers (macro or small managed by Comcast)These engineers will be the break fix for those towers
Solely responsible for managing CP devices including radio

Must have Networking knowledge on layer 2 side
Bachelors in any Engineering discipline
Vendor Certification like CCNA or JNCIA

Shift is M-F Day shift

Monitoring the CP devices and receiving the calls (i.e if there is an incident, they will be contacted by other carrier, this person will open create ticket and managing ticket to resolution) They will own the problem from start to finish.
Will need to troubleshoot CP issues and possibly dispatch a tech as needed and work with them to make sure configurations are properly downloaded and service is restored

May have to engage core team or escalate to TF 2 of TF3 team on occasion
Will manager and work the ticket to make sure the ticket is restored 1-3 years' experience needed

Issues could be reported through call, email or monitoring tool. Will send communications out to update other teams on issues they are working on.

Top 3 skills
1. layer 2 troubleshooting (LAN, WAN, Layer 2 protocols, IP protocols)
2. if they have routing protocol knowledge, that would be a plus
