AS400/RPG Developer

Technical skills :

• Strong understating on RPG (Report Program Generator) programming language that originated as a report-building program used in DEC and IBM minicomputer operating systems and evolved into a fully procedural programming language.
• Sound understanding of OOPs, Design Patterns.
• Extensive experience of coding in RPG III, RPG IV, CLLE, RPGLE, SQLRPG, HTML and JavaScript along with good knowledge in testing environment, building test cases, writing user test plans, and executing the test cases.
• Utilities and tools used like below:

• PDM, SDA, SEU, DFU, RLU, Aldon Change Management System (ACMS), Implementer, Web-Smart, X-Analysis, SQL Developer, RFHUTIL, Eclipse, ProfoundUI, GitHub, Postman, SoapUI, AWS S3-Bucket.

• Designing and developing real time data sync APIs using KAFKA
• Knowledge of GIT, Bamboo, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence etc.
• RDBMS knowledge with expertise on advanced SQL Queries, Procedures, Multi- Threading, JDBC etc.
• Database knowledge (Postgres, Oracle, GraphDB, etc.)
• Knowledge of Devops, CICD, Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with development on Unix/Linux Environment.

Domain Skills : Good to have

• Network Domain understanding for IP technologies
• Service Model understanding for Telco networks
• Knowledge about network, service and customer topology
• Telco OSS domain skills (Service Fulfilment and Service Assurance)
• Management and configuration of telecommunications networks and associated communications technologies e.g. IP in a carrier environment, MPLS, 2/3/4G RAN, optical and other backhaul transport technologies, carrier Ethernet, etc.
• Data Scientist' background an advantage.
• Knowledge of modelling languages/techniques (e.g., UML, OML, entity relationship modelling, DFDs)
• APIGEE API management gateway or similar ESB tool

Responsibilities :

• Requirement gathering and technical design documentation.
• Complete system analysis.
• Develop and modify programs.
• Resolve and recommend support issues related to batch jobs.
• Provide solutions to the various system problems
• Develop well designed, efficient, testable service models on OSS application/Suite - by coding with software development principles & practices.
• Develop programs in RPG.
• Writing Web Services for external interfaces in SOAP/REST
• Maintaining, expanding, and scaling existing solution.
• Gather and refine requirements based on technical & product needs.
• Follow Agile Scrum practices and participate in all Scrum events.
• Create and maintain software documentation, wiki knowledge base.
• Translate customer (internal, external or regulatory) needs and requirements, using technical principles into reusable API based micro-services.
• Maintain CICD pipelines, into production
• Contribute to planning and design sessions, utilising agile ceremonies and techniques, providing estimation to the team
• Integrate solutions by executing on security and operational requirements
• Assess capability of vendor solutions and offerings to meet business requirements and manage vendor technology delivery.
• Assess capability of internal systems and offerings to meet business requirements.
• Develop platform specific technology functionality for business requirements that leverage opportunities from evolving and future technologies.
• Provide level 3/ 4 support as part of a DevOps team
