Cyber Security Specialist

Cyber Security Specialist:

Responsibilities:

Support investigation and response to cyber incidents using malware, log, and network analysis
Leverage EDR to investigate and identify malicious activity to determine root cause
Assist with threat hunting to support investigations
Work with threat intelligence to identify tools, tactics, and procedures (TTP) and indicators of compromise (IOC)
Support penetration testing and purple team exercises
Create comprehensive analysis reports and after-action reports, as needed
Leverage threat intelligence to identify potential vulnerabilities to BMS internal- and external-facing systems
Communicate concisely and effectively with internal BMS stakeholders and service providers to drive risk assessment and remediation of vulnerabilities and other weaknesses
Technology road-mapping and implementation to support the continued maturity of the Cybersecurity function
Technology development/configuration, including logging, sensors, SIEM, EDR, etc.
Technology design/architecture, including Cloud

Required Experience:
0-3 years' experience, with relevant coursework or projects in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Informatics, Information Science/Technology, Software Engineering, Security and Risk Analysis, or other relevant majors with IT experience
Solid working knowledge of networking technology and tools, firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS, encryption
Technical writing and presentation skills
Ability to concisely communicate verbally and in writing with diverse stakeholders
Experience with Linux (CLI), MAC OSX, and Windows operating systems
Experience with Cloud elements (S3, Impala, Athena, etc.)
Proactively identifies issues and elevates them appropriately
Agility to learn new tools or processes
Experience with scripting such as Python and PowerShell

Ideal Candidates:
Relevant industry certifications (Security+, SANS, etc.)
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, OSI layers, CIDR)
Experience in fast-paced environments
Experience with programming or scripting languages (Python, bash)
Ability to present highly technical information to non-technical audiences
