: Java Developer

Below is the JD:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical expertise to design, develop and implement effective IT solutions for Span Alaska business unit.

2. Demonstrate strong programming skills in Java, Web Services, Spring Framework, AWS Services and SQL.

3. Analyze and understand business problems/requirements and provide technical solutions.

4. Translate customer requirements into technical documents and provide direction to development team

5. Effectively configure and implement new features in third party vendor applications

6. Quickly adopt to industry trends and developments and apply that knowledge to improve our services to customers and carriers.

7. Coordinate with multiple technical teams on project deliverables and timelines.

8. Enforce coding standards, best practices and consistently deliver high quality product.

9. Write efficient and testable code, build reusable components and create code documentation

10. Troubleshooting and debugging for an optimal performance

11. Work with external vendors and parties for end-to-end integration

12. Develop an understanding of the customer's business, build relationships and identify opportunities for growth in all Matson services that are available.

Technical Requirements/Competencies:

1. 10+ years of software and project development experience using JAVA, web technologies, Spring / Spring Boot Framework, Web Services, JSON, Swagger, XML, Hibernate, HTML, CSS, React

2. Strong problem solving, analyzing and debugging skills

3. Strong knowledge in CD/CI pipeline and deployments in AWS cloud

4. Strong knowledge in application/web servers, Tomcat/Apache/JBoss

5. Good knowledge in web tools, browsers and info-sec concepts

6. Proven ability to use best practices by developing reusable code component, driving coding standards, performing code reviews, and providing key process improvement recommendations.

7. Strong understanding of version control tools.

8. Strong database and SQL programming experience Oracle, MySQL experience a plus.

9. Linux/Unix experience, open source Java stack and Tomcat/Apache/JBoss Servers

10. Experience implementing cloud-based solutions in AWS a plus.

11. Understanding in .NET programming is a plus.

12. Strong INFOSEC understanding and build applications with sound Information Security/ Cyber Security principles.

13. Experience building large and complex analytics application using advanced analytics platform applying hands on big data skills.
