Data Engineering Consultant (m/w/x)

Hopmann Marketing Analytics GmbH is a boutique consultancy for digital analytics, data engineering, data science and data visualization based in Munich, Germany. We work with well-known customers to develop sophisticated solutions that enable data-driven decisions. Our passion is data and we want to make it accessible to everyone in meaningful visualizations and ad hoc reports.

Tasks

• You support the design and implementation of data pipelines (ETL/ELT processes) and their automated deployment via CI/CD pipelines using state-of-the-art technologies
• You create sophisticated data models while keeping performance, adaptability and expandability in mind
• You configure, maintain and expand new as well as existing cloud-based infrastructures, data warehouses and data lakes
• You analyze and optimize existing data pipelines and infrastructures concerning costs, runtime and stability
• You collect customer requirements and analyze their goals and strategies to develop technical concepts
• You advise our customers on the introduction and optimization of technologies from the "modern data stack"
• You cooperate closely with your colleagues from the Data Visualization, Digital Analytics and Data Science teams to develop innovative solutions
• You support your teammates professionally, technically as well as personally
• You create powerful presentations and deliver informative training and education sessions

Requirements

• Academic degree, ideally with a technical background
• Data-driven thinking and analytical skills
• First professional experience, e.g. as a data engineer, data scientist or similar
• Very good knowledge of SQL as well as relational (cloud) databases (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and data modeling
• Very good knowledge of Python and corresponding libraries for data transformation and analysis (e.g. Pandas)
• Experience with cloud BI technologies (e.g., services from AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with tools for data orchestration (e.g. Apache Airflow, Prefect) and data transformation (e.g. dbt)
• Interest in technologies and tools around the "modern data stack", e.g. regarding data ingestion, testing & data quality, data lineage, reverse ETL
