Scientific Lab Technician/Assistant

Summary:

We are looking for someone who will be Assisting with general laboratory maintenance, including purchasing supplies necessary to conduct experiments and adhering to laboratory safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Activities expected of this hire will include but are not limited to:
• Processing samples for and operation of HPLC.
• Assist in the protocol development for a metabolomic pipeline, including sample processing.
• Assist in the development, testing, and implementation of plate based enzymatic assays.
• Documenting protocols, results, and data using an electronic lab notebook.
• Ongoing use and testing of early team prototypes of computational tools.

Skills/ Education/ Experience:

• BS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, systems biology, or similar.
• 1 year or more of relevant industry (preferred) or academic research experience.
• Hands on experience operating and maintaining HPLC, including method development and data analysis.
• Experience processing samples for metabolomic analysis.
• Ability to execute experiments independently, troubleshoot techniques, and evaluate data of moderate complexity.
• Experience with performing general laboratory duties such as preparing media reagents, basic maintenance of equipment, management of waste disposals.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Exemplary written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including the ability to maintain detailed and accurate laboratory documentation and present results effectively.
• Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary lab environment.
