Key Functions and Responsibilities

As an Application & Dev Ops Engineer in Index Technology the individual will be responsible for supporting the development and deployment pipelines of key index systems required for strategic business growth. The candidate will be required to provide technical expertise, ownership and responsibilities in end-to-end IT project delivery and 3rd line support.

Role Responsibilities

Advises and works with corporate Dev Ops to ensure CI/CD pipelines are updated to support new feature development

Assist multiple development teams by integrating source code into deployment pipelines

Ensures CI/CD pipelines are functioning correctly across multiple non-production environments

Proactively manages build and deployment errors

Works with QA Automation staff to integrate testing frameworks and jobs into CI/CD tools

Proactively scripts IaaS in AWS using Terraform and/or CloudFormation

Assists with cross-environment database support activities, such as data migration, loading, and aligning application configuration

Works to containerize applications when appropriate using Docker, Kubernetes, et al

Maintains clear environment versioning documentation and consolidates release notes

Assumes master source code repository ownership of certain projects and manages merges to master to coincide with release schedule

Documents application deployment and support requirements

Documents, shares, and publishes environment performance metrics with development leads on regular basis

Works closely with Index Management business to understand business needs and ensure products and services are being delivered in a reliable and predictable fashion to align with the goals of the business line

Contributes to project development through high-quality software development on an as-needed basis

Develops, and delivers software solutions that align with architecture, operational and risk processes

Communicates with clarity, precision, and influence, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate

Miniumum Requirements

This is an Individual Contributor role

Thorough knowledge of application architectures, including cloud architectures and AWS service offerings

Extensive experience with CI/CD tools & pipeline automation, Jenkins preferred

Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation

Strong experience with SQL Server and database management

Experience with .NET Core applications and IIS deployments

Understanding of client-side Single Page Application frameworks such as Angular

Experience in software development methodologies and Agile based delivery

Good experience in multi-tier solutions / microservices required

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
