About the Product Team:

The Product Management team enables EDRI to plan, build and run a reliable and seamless Pan-European EV charging network with latest charging and energy technologies. We work in cross-functional teams to develop viable and sustainable solutions and lead the product lifecycle management to continuously improve charging, battery and energy technologies.

The part you ll play:

EDRI is looking for a Working Student Product Development (m/f/d) to support our Product Team. You will support the Product Management team in developing and building simulation and optimization models to help EDRI design and operate cost-optimized high powered EV charging parks with integrated battery storages and/or on-site energy generation.

This is a hybrid position with a mix of home office and on-site at our Headquarters in Essen, Germany.

Tasks

• You will develop (linear) optimization models with the purpose of cost optimization of high power EV charging parks and increasing revenues by flexibility trading with battery storage systems
• You will familiarize yourself with the commercial and technical aspects of standard balancing products (e.g. aFRR and mFRR) and analyze the revenue potential in different countries
• You will work through details of balancing products and support on develop complex calculation models
• You will support in documentation e.g.: management presentation, training material, GitLab etc.
• You will work in European projects with multicultural teams and contribute to the overall success

Requirements

• You are currently enrolled at a university, preferably in electrical (power) engineering, energy economics, mathematics or information technology
• Ideally you have at least first working experience als Werkstudent (m/w/d) or Praktikant / Intern (m/w/d)
• You are a detail-oriented person and have strong logical/analytical skills
• You have a strong interest in learning everything about eMobility, battery storages and the energy market
• Good knowledge in Python, C# or Matlab or a strong background in modelling and optimization programming
• You are highly cooperative and a true team player
• You are versatile in a European environment and are aware of intercultural differences
• You are business-fluent in English and ideally in German as well
