PVBH is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services & is accredited by The Joint Commission." Palo Verde is a very fast paced level 1 acuity behavioral health hospital. The Nurse to Patient ratio's will vary depending on census & acuity level. The Staff Nurse & the Charge Nurse provide safe & effective nursing care in the assigned area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy & objectives of the Hospital & within the framework of established policies & procedures of the Department of Nursing Services. As a key team member in the clinical area, the Staff Nurse & Charge Nurse promote a climate of effective performance & learning through role modeling, willingness to learn & teach, & availability to patients & staff. Palo Verde Programs include Adolescents, Adult Acute In patient, Adult Acute Inpatient Detoxification, Intensive Outpatient Program Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing or baccalaureate program required; Current licensure as a Registered nurse thorough the State of Arizona. Experience: Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred; Charge Nurse: Minimum one (1) year in psychiatric nursing or one (1) year experience as a Charge Nurse; Knowledge/Skills: Must have ability to communicate effectively. Charge Nurse - Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability. Must be able to perform concentrated &/or complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex &/or highly technical situations; Must be able to work successfully under highly stressful conditions; Must be able to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific &/or ethical principles; Must be able to comprehend & perform oral & written instructions & procedures; Must be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion; Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads an work assignments on a constant basis; Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written & verbal. Must have math skills to enable calculation of drug dosages & infusion rates. Dress Code: The RN's can wear any color scrubs they would like, we do ask that the do not bring in any sweaters or jackets that have hoods or strings to wear while on the units.

Skills: Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting - Desired Current licensure as a Registered nurse thorough the State of Arizona. - Required Graduate of accredited School of Nursing or baccalaureate program - Required Minimum one (1) year in psychiatric nursing or one (1) year experience as a Charge Nurse; - Required: 1 Years Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation upon hire & bi-annually thereafter. - Required Must be certified in Handle With Care - Facility will train - Required: 3 Months Must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain - Required

Schedule Notes: 4 Positions - Nights - 7p-7a - 3x12s - 13 weeks with every other weekend required - open to local candidates!
