Description:
  • Experience in procurement in a manufacturing environment and experience in SAP is strongly preferred for this role. Strong systems background or advanced Excel is a plus.
  • Leads operational procurement activities associated defined desk (one or more of the following Metals, Plastics, Fluidics, or Misc). Understands production planning requirements, evaluates/interprets SAP demand and Supply details then translates for internal and external communication to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Operational Procurement: Reviews SAP planning to determine and maintain requirements, converts requisitions into purchase orders, collaborates with Supplier to confirm orders and manages delivery schedule. Resolves gaps as needed to maintain continuity of supply. Follows material through Receipt, First Article Inspection until invoice/payment is cleared. Troubleshoots threats to supply to prevent production line stops, works cross-functionally to improve overall processes and business performance.
  • Engineering or Source Change Management: Works cross-functionally to ensure that operational requirements are met during change in supplier or cut in or design change. Plans supply according to demand profile and other factors to ensure continuity of supply and mitigation or risk. Collaborates with a cross-functional team to quality new sources and ensure continuity of supply (preventing impact to production). Balances inventory management and cost management expectations with material needs of the production line to ensure harmonized flow of material.

General Overview - generic:
  • Represents the operational procurement team on site during internal customer and cross-functional interface
  • Coordinates, communicates and maintains all dates and information from project site to ensure an accurate, on schedule and economical processing and optimized supply regarding customer needs.
  • Ensures information regarding disposition of goods during transport and permanently update of these information to create options for alternative actions by information of all involved parties in a timely manner.
  • Creates deficiency and status reports regarding material and product availability based on the needs of the customer supply concept in order to provide an assured data and information base.* Documents and processes complaints or transport damages with responsible partners (Project Logistics Manager, Project Purchase, Insurance) to secure any recourse claims and to take further measures.
  • Acts as the interface to involved suppliers and logistics providers and coordinate their activities, ensuring cost efficient and seamless operations.
