Job Description: Performs complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling). Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation. Makes major repairs. Manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using various manual and computer controlled machines, hand tools and precision alignment equipment. Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required. Provides tooling support to other organizations. Designs various part fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings or customer requests to enable production using computer or paper tool design processes. Determines fabrication and assembly processes for the design. Reverse engineers designs and fabrication processes for parts. Demonstrates functionality of complex fabrication and assembly tools to approving authority by manufacturing first part with new tool. Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies. Works under general direction.
