We are looking for an innovative Instructional Designer for our internal organization at a global social media company, a highly-energized environment with some of the most talented creative minds. You will develop original content into presentations, videos, e-learning courses and step-by-step instructions for training, standardization and onboarding materials to educate a global team.
Responsibilities:
- Research the team's processes/procedures through internal draft materials, wikis, engaging in-person interviews to generate original training materials
- Build learning experiences in different formats, using/working within the constraints of different templates including: Structured e-learning modules consisting of text, graphics and interactive web components hosted in an LMS; simple video tutorials, walkthroughs and presentations Host in-process reviews and validation with Product SMEs or Partner-facing Engineers
- Coordinate with Product teams to gather supplemental photos/videos, documents and materials for holistic training where required
- Socialize new content with subject matter experts
- Maintain created material on an ongoing basis
- Synthesize instructional content with an eye for the partner or customer's perspective, including safety, occupational considerations and accessibility best practices (e.g. colour-blindness, options for closed captioning, etc.)
- Build relationships with key cross-functional partners to understand how your content is being received and engaged within market and take action based on feedback

Skills/Experience:
- Flexibility and resourcefulness to manage changing business requirements, projects, and resources, adapting accordingly and positively
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience balancing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting aggressive timelines
- Experience with design and development of computer-based training
- Highly skilled in development software such as Captivate or Articulate
- Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Cornerstone
- Knowledge and understanding of SCORM
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to instructional design
- Experience with visual design in Adobe Creative Suite, Google suite, PowerPoint and
- other tools: Rise, Articulate, InDesign, PhotoShop, LMS platform, Camtasia, Snaglt, etc
- Knowledge of design principles and applications is preferred
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Design, Adult Education, Digital Marketing, or related field
- 2+ years of experience working as an instructional designer in a fast-paced environment
- 2+ years of experience in educational content development for in-person training and eLearning
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
- Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
- Contribute content and collaborate via the OrangePeople-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
- Provide status reports to OrangePeople Account Management as requested.
