Position Summary

Under Armour Europe is seeking an Accounting lead for EMEA, focused mainly on statutory reporting and compliance with internal controls. The Statutory Reporting process will involve data gathering and validation, through to GAAP bridging between Group GAAP (US GAAP) and local GAAP and coordination and support of the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements. Additionally, the lead will support the EMEA Region to ensure compliance to an effective internal control environment adhering to global policies and procedures.
The role is based in Amsterdam; in our beautiful office just opposite the Olympic Stadion. At Under Armour we are working in a hybrid model; a minimum of 2 days in the office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Statutory reporting:
Ensure smooth delivery of financial statement close process and statutory reporting
Coordinate the EMEA statutory reporting compliance for all legal entities
Detailed review of financial statements, schedules and workings
Liaise with 3rd party providers in regions on the preparation and audit of the statutory financial statements of UA Europe subsidiaries
Coach and develop the team of junior and senior accountants preparing statutory financial statements
Internal controls:
Conduct and document (under the leadership of Internal Controls Manager from the Corporate team) process walkthroughs and related narratives specific to the EMEA business, with a focus on internal controls and ownership of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Maintain an efficient internal control environment - including monitoring of key control executions, preparation of accurate and timely formal written reports/oral presentations to management on findings, management control remediation plans and recommendations
Proactively understand and follow European entities compliance trend and initiate process improvement to comply with the trend
Support process improvement, implementation and remediation actions related to operational control projects in the region.
Liaison directly with the Corporate Internal controls team to support effective controls reporting and communication from the region.
Others:
Ensure completion of assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner
Willingness to challenge status quo processes and desire to implement process improvements by providing lean ideas, enforcing an environment with uncompromising controls and improve quality
Support the Under Armour Corporate team on ad hoc issues and improvement projects where required.
Other ad hoc duties deemed necessary by the Senior Manager Accounting.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Attention to detail
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and technical skills
Proven track of working with leaders from across geographies and managing the deliverables under a fast-changing expectation with accurate quality in a matrix environment.
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
Team player with demonstrated ability to lead and influence others outside of direct-reporting lines
Familiarity with corporate financial accounting systems (SAP experience preferred)
Fluency in English is a must, while other European language is also an advantage

Education And / Or Experience

Masters degree in Economics or Accounting or equivalent
5-8 years' work experience in accounting and/or finance (preferably including Audit experience), financial consulting with strong project management skills, in a high-growth dynamic operating environment, preferably including experience in a global public company
Extensive knowledge of (US) GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley.
