Job Description

Job Title: Advanced Windows Desktop Support

Location of role: Downers Grove, IL on-site and eventually 1 day work from home
HOURS: MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:30 am 5:00 pm

Salary or Hourly range: $75k - $90k Depending on experience DOE

Key Points of the role:

4+ years of desktop support experience (advanced level) as well as expertise in Windows 10 and Office 365.

Should have some experience with Windows Server systems and basic knowledge of networking.
  • Advanced knowledge in current and future Windows Desktop systems. (10,11)
  • Basic knowledge of current and future Windows Server systems (2016, 2019. 2022).
  • Basic knowledge of Networking (Routing, TCPIP, etc.).
  • 4-5 years' experience in desktop support, and some server support.
  • Prefer Windows Desktop or A+ certifications.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Support Specialist recommends, develops, configures, installs, monitors, and supports the organization's hardware / software for the workstations and provided input into enterprise server and networking infrastructure. If necessary, assists with supporting the organization's server infrastructure, local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and cloud applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides users with help desk, VPN, and software support. Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources. Trains users in use of equipment.
  • Upgrades hardware and software components as required including client and server patch management.
  • Develops and writes procedures for installation, use, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
  • Provides users with help desk, and network support. Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources. Trains users in use of equipment.
  • Sets up user accounts, regulating and monitoring file access to ensure confidentiality and proper use.
  • Assembles and configures new PCs, network components, and associated services. Provides new PC builds.
