The team
The Technology, Media and Telecommunications Product team at S&P global is focused on creating and serving products that provide cutting edge research and data within the technology and media space. We serve multiple personas within the media and telecommunications industries, serving solutions focused on Broadband, Connected Devices, Network infrastructure, 5G Mobileas well as OTT and streaming video, Pay TV and Broadcast, TV and Film programming and Virtual Reality and Assisted Reality.
The impact
We are looking for a Product Manager to lead our Media and Telecommunications vertical. The right candidate will work internally across multiple groups to determine the assets we have and what are necessary to address the market opportunities now and into the future within the sectors.
This role will have a focus on companies in the telecommunications and broader media space and their needs, providing unique differentiated asset level data, research and insights on the global telecoms and media market
The right individual will work with existing and prospective customers to develop product ideas and then work across sales, research, marketing as well as other groups within S&P and multiple platforms to deliver innovative solutions that enable our business to grow and scale.

The Product Manager will play a critical role within the TMT group but also work across the broader RASS group and others within Market Intelligence and S&P broadly. This will include other product groups, research teams, sales, marketing and leadership.
Finally, you will have the opportunity to work directly with customers and prospects to gain insight into the market trends and opportunities
Responsibilities and Characteristics
Market Problems, Market Definition, Competitive Landscape:
Understands current and future customer needs, as well as the competitive environment to shape and execute a compelling product strategy.
Product Requirements:
Based on market expertise and input from market-facing stakeholders, guides and validates functional requirements and general user stories that solve complex and pervasive market problems with new solutions aligned with vision and strategy.
Product Strategy & Roadmap:
Leads and coordinates portfolio strategies to drive growth and innovation in new product areas to exceed customer needs and desires.
Innovation:
Solves industry challenges by applying leading-edge technologies and new approaches to solve the most difficult market problems and create transformational solutions for the industry.
Problem Solving:
Demonstrated exceptional ability to identify, analyze, evaluate alternatives and formulate responses to resolve business and customer problems.
Client Insights:
Communicate consistently with customers and prospects, to get feedback and insight into market opportunities and areas for growth as well as improvement
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably within the media or telecommunications industries
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in technology field is required.
Experience building and launching successful products with varying groups including UX, Product, Software Development and then Sales/Marketing teams
Solid organizational skills, attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
Outstanding communication skills: written, verbal, presentations.
Passion for customer driven insights and interactions, letting client feedback source market problems and new product direction
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and influence product/engineering service owners.
Self-driven, analytical, and results oriented with proven sound judgment.
Experience working cross-functionally with multiple business teams across business lines, and the ability to influence strategic decisions
Pragmatic Marketing or similar disciplined approach to Product Management and Development
