General Statement of Duties:


The Client Intake & Conflicts Supervisor oversees departmental operations and manages the Client Intake & Conflicts staff in the Dallas office. This position interacts with the Associate General Counsel and requires outstanding analytical skills, follow-up and judgment.


Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Oversees Firmwide new business intake and conflict of interest activities, including processing requests and reporting data in a manner consistent with established Firm policies.

  • Assist with the daily processing of preliminary and new matter conflict of interest checks including:

    • Review of data submitted for accuracy; corresponding with the attorney and/or secretary regarding questions or relevancy of data.

    • Corporate family tree research.

    • New client due diligence



  • Analyzes initial conflict of interest results for relevancy prior to distribution.

  • Assist attorneys with conflict resolutions; seeking guidance and direction from the Associate General Counsel, when appropriate.

  • Assists the Director of Information Governance to refine and manage the client/matter intake processes, including procedures for opening new matters, gathering required documentation and reporting new business to the Firm.

  • Oversees and assists with vendor vetting, and audit response procedures

  • Assists the Director of Information Governance in managing the business relationship as it relates to conflict due diligence software.

  • Reviews and analyzes established processes and recommend improvements as necessary.

  • Assists with the ongoing training for New Intake/Conflict staff, including the data entry and conflict check methodology.

  • Manages the Client Intake and Conflicts staff time entries and schedules.

  • Must maintain excellent communication with all members of the team.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Information Governance.


Education & Experience:



  • Bachelors Degree required.

  • Minimum 5+ years of law firm conflicts experience.

  • Knowledge of ethical, legal and risk management rules and requirements.

  • Experience with conflicts software, as well as proficiency in using online research tools such as Lexis/Nexis.

  • Analytical and creative approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibility This position will oversee Client Intake and Conflicts Team Members


Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment.


Position Type/Expected Work Hours This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel Minimum travel is expected for this position.
