About Kiron

Kiron Open Higher Education gGmbH is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 with the mission to enable access to high-quality education for refugees and underserved communities through digital solutions. Our team of Kironistas is international, agile and thinks out-of-the-box. We are education experts, techies, designers, project managers, communicators, grant writers, researchers, coffee-drinkers, innovators and dreamers, all united in our passion to democratise digital education.

Kiron is running a multi-stakeholder project that provides newcomers to Germany with a German language inclusion course to help them integrate into German society and gain access to the job market. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can provide an outstanding experience to the freelancers teaching this course, from hiring to onboarding to managing our teacher pool, communicating with and managing our stakeholders, and ensuring flawless management systems, documentation, and processes.

Tasks

As our Teacher Recruiter and Manager

you will be responsible for the recruitment, selection, training and supporting of our teachers throughout the scheduling, execution and evaluation of our courses.

In this role, you will own

  • The recruitment process for our teachers, including writing job descriptions, running the recruitment campaign, reviewing and managing applications, interviewing candidates and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Onboarding our new teachers about Kiron, the content and format of the course.
  • The communication with the teachers and students.
  • The scheduling of courses and creation of timetables for the teachers.
  • The management of the teacher pool, including contract management, invoice supervision and providing technical support.
  • Supervising and supporting the daily running of classes.
  • Evaluating classes and collecting feedback for improvement.
  • Running and coordinating different cohorts of the integrations course.
  • Communicating with the instructional design team and other stakeholder.

Requirements

About you

To succeed and grow in this position, you likely be

  • Passionate about our mission to democratize access to education for refugees and disadvantaged communities worldwide
  • An excellent communicator and committed to creating an exceptional experience for all the stakeholders you interact with
  • A proactive individual capable of working independently and highly motivated to implement new ideas
  • Extremely organized, process- and delivery-oriented, with a keen eye and a focus on continuous optimisation
  • Fluent in English and German both in writing and speaking

and will likely have:

  • Experience with recruitment and selection processes
  • Experience dealing with various types of stakeholders and managing complex multi-stakeholder projects
  • Experience with digital classrooms, zoom and scheduling tools

Ideally, you might also have:

  • Pedagogical or Ed-Tech background
  • Previous experience teaching online courses

This is what you can expect

After your first month, you will complete the onboarding process, learn the ins and outs of the Kiron activities you ll be managing, get to know the team, and take over communication with the teachers.

After three months, you will have developed a strong structure to supervise the whole recruitment and management process.

After six months, you will have revised and improved the whole process autonomously.

After one year, you will take ownership of the full project lifecycle, including budget responsibilities.
