Client Tissue Diagnostics - Digital Pathology group is looking for a highly motivated Software Development Engineer in Test who has an affinity for research and comes up with innovative solutions to the real-world problems encountered during software development and test cycle.
The Software Automation Engineer, will work as part of the Digital Pathology (RTD) software testing team and with the Digital Pathology (RTD) management leadership, and be responsible for working with all project teams to facilitate the delivery needs of the team.
Summary:
A Software Automation Engineer should be able to debug software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products. Design and execute software test plan, and implement automation programs and scripts. Analyze and write test standards and procedures, maintain documentation, test results, debug and recommend corrective solutions, take actions to resolve problems and consults with product owners, development leads and engineers to ensure the product quality is maintained as expected. Provide feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems and software.
Responsibilities:
A Software Automation Engineer should be able to debug software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products. Design and execute software test plan, and implement automation programs and scripts. Analyze and write test standards and procedures, maintain documentation, test results, debug and recommend corrective solutions, take actions to resolve problems and consults with product owners, development leads and engineers to ensure the product quality is maintained as expected. Responsibilities:
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and validate SW test methods and tools
- Manage the definition of test methods and the creation of test plans for new or updated software
- Execute test cases on projects with varying difficulty
- Write test automation scripts, code, and participate in code reviews
- Help drive decisions about test automation strategies
- Compose, execute and assess results of functional and non-functional tests according to the defined by the test strategy
- Configure and manage test environments
- Perform regression tests to ensure software functionality for internal research and product software pipelines
- Identify and manage issues and provide recommendations to stakeholders
- Promote agile software development best practices and test-driven development culture
- Provide detailed bug reports to engineering team using JIRA
MUST-HAVE Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, mathematics, or engineering
- Experience with developing test automation framework
- Experience with Java or Python, Scripts and OOP concepts
- Experience working in Selenium WebDrive, BDD, Rest API, Soap API, Bitbucket. Github, Clientlij or Eclipse
- Experience and developing Rest / Soap API testing frameworks
- Experience working in an Agile development organization and JIRA
- Knowledge of operating systems, Maven, Jenkins, AWS, Dockers, Safe, HP ALM
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Handling multiple projects and priorities with organizational and time management skills (both project and self)
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines
Good to Have skills
- Healthcare background and experience with healthcare applications is a plus
Other Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities
- An affinity for problem solving, and the ability to understand complex relationships between product functionality and requirements
- Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
