Job Title: Calibration & Repair Engineer / Technician
Location: Harrow or Mechelen
Responsible To: Laboratory Manager and or Team Leader
Responsible for: Calibration & Repair of a range of product covering mHz to Optical.
Contribute to the overall success through quality, productivity, attention to detail and technical support. Provide excellent customer service.
Primary Purpose:
- Repair and calibration of Test & Measurement equipment from mHz to Optical.
- Configuring of products & systems including software and firmware control to meet customer requirements.
- To perform measurements in test and provide Technical Support on a range of Test & Measurement equipment.
- Provide LEO and Asset Management support to Key Customer Accounts.
- Analyse and interpret data, enter information into database / ERP, and update certification on all equipment to complete calibration procedures.
- Performed routine and difficult calibration tasks as described in approved calibration procedures, ensuring compliance with good calibration practices.
- Create calibration procedures, calibration out-of-tolerance impact investigations, and assisted with validation activities.
- Perform calibrations using Metrology calibration software such as Fluke METCAL, MUDCATS, SURECAL, KAELUS, NARDA & PC TEL etc.
- Maintain approved Laboratory instrument calibration procedures.
Key Relationships: Customers, Customer Care, Logistics, Product Management, Production and Laboratories.
Core Competencies: An understanding of general test and measurement equipment.
Calibration experience of a wide range of test & measurement equipment covering mHz to Optical namely Telecom, RF & GPTE.
Utilise Metrology and Calibration programs to calibrate high precision test and measurement electronic equipment.
Key Accountabilities
- To prioritise workload so that customer requirements and turnaround targets are achieved via D365 work orders.
- Calibration of a variety of Test & Measurement equipment via Automated and manual calibrations
- Ensure that the highest possible levels of quality are maintained
- Ensure that a clean and tidy working environment is always kept.
- Order Preparation Ensure delivery on time of all orders to a required quality level following detailed work instructions. Work with Team Leader /D365 and Production to meet daily order requirements.
- Where possible provide Technical Support internally and to customers via telephone, e-mail and TEAM calls as and when required.
- Maintain an awareness of our quality, safety & process procedures and always adhere to them. Maintaining our compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Experience:
- Previous experience of working in a Calibration Laboratory environment
- Possess excellent organisational & administrative skills Able to demonstrate proficient level of attention to detail
- Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role
- You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with a solid understanding of health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
English, Maths & Science
Technical training within calibration
City & Guilds Craft Apprenticeship or NVQ level 3
Valid driving licence
Valid passport for international travel
