If your dream job is to help others do the most good they can while leading a growing organisation, then this might be the opportunity you have been waiting for!
Effective Altruism Netherlands (EAN) is seeking a second director to help us grow our community building work.
EAN s mission is to build a community of and for effective altruists in the Netherlands.
Our vision is of a Netherlands where all of those who are interested in effective altruism have access to the people and the resources they need to maximise the social impact they achieve through their careers, projects, and donations.
The role is dynamic, and responsibilities will be divided based on individual strengths and preferences. Typical tasks include:
Many excellent candidates will have some (but not all) of the below characteristics, and we encourage you to apply even if you do not have all of the characteristics listed. You ve probably heard the following statistic: men apply for a job when they meet only 60% of the qualifications, but women apply only if they meet 100% of them. We don t want this to happen!
With this in mind, we expect a successful candidate to:
The successful candidate will be an employee of EA Netherlands with a one-year contract. They will be funded via a Community Building Grant from the Centre for Effective Altruism. The grant for their salary (for 1 FTE) will be between EUR 65,000 and 72,000 (adjusted based on the cost of living, with flexibility for exceptional candidates). Please note, this is subject to exchange rates as the grant amount is denominated in USD. Also, the final salary will be slightly lower due to payroll taxes, etc. Other benefits include 25 days' paid leave per year, plus bank holidays, and a 2,000 personal development budget.
Don't delay, apply now!
Our process will consist of five phases:
We will notify you at each stage whether you advance in the process. The work test will be of a general nature. It is designed to test your ability and subject-area competence rather than as functional work for the organisation. The work trial is to give you a better feel for the work and to help both you and James decide whether you are a good fit for working together as a team.
We expect the hiring process to be finished by mid-December. The starting date for the position will be determined together with the successful applicant. We are keen for someone to start soon, but we could wait if needed.
