An Electrical Engineer, as a part of Manufacturing Engineering, is responsible for electrical design, development, deployment, maintenance, and support of custom manufacturing tools and test equipment. This role is responsible for the assessment and improvement of a large tool and equipment set supporting ECG products manufacturing.
The successful candidate for this role will a be a versatile hands-on engineer able to investigate, troubleshoot, remediate, and create equipment including its design documentation.
The Role:
Assess the robustness and capability of a large tool and equipment set
Investigate gaps in design, documentation, and usability
Plan, propose, and implement solutions following a design change process
Solutions will incorporate input from manufacturing engineering, operations and R&D that will improve the product assembly and test process
Solutions will be appropriately sized and scoped based on the manufacturing need including modernizing certain designs while reusing or duplicating exiting designs
Be or become a subject matter expert on Electrical Safety "Agency" Tests based on IEC 60601 for medical devices
Participate, as needed, in the construction of tools and test equipment including electronics assembly and equipment interconnect
Troubleshoot issues as needed.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
2+ years of experience.
Required Skills:
Experience interfacing with a multi-disciplinary team (Manufacturing, R&D) across multiple physical sites
Proficient with use of laboratory test equipment including oscilloscope, power supplies, signal generators, multimeters
Proficient with Visio, Excel, Word, and strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to create and interpret detailed electrical specifications and schematics
Strong attention to detail with an ability to work in a highly regulated environment
A strong emphasis on quality systems and policy
A skilled troubleshooter and problem solver
Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing facility
Occasional international travel ?10%
Desired Skills:
Experience with National Instruments hardware and instrumentation
Software engineering and languages (C#.net, VB.net, LabVIEW, TestStand)
Electrical Safety Testing experience
Experience with solder, PCBA & electrical quality standards (IPC-610)
SAP experience
