Our Chicago client has an immediate need for a Network Administrator (5+ years experience required).

Reports to: Director of Information Technology

Purpose:

Perform administrative support and maintenance functions for all servers, network and telecommunications equipment in local and remote facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems; wireless networks (WLAN), Firewalls, data file backup/restore, maintenance and problem solving.
Develop and implement network infrastructure designs based on industry best-practices to meet business and technical requirements for highly available systems environments.
Lead and participate in project delivery work that includes, design, configuration and deployment.
Leads troubleshooting and support efforts for network and remote connectivity hardware/software for servers, laptops, desktops, printers, RF scanning, and other network devices.
Maintains LAN user documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information.
Lead, plan, coordinate, drive and execute project plans relative to system implementations.
Manage vendor relationships as required.
Researches and recommends network and server hardware and software; assists in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software.
Analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems; monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges; responds to system generated alerts.
Establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts; provides email training and software support.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes and procedures, and service records.
Supports telecommunication devices and vendor management for VoIP telephone systems, paging systems, cellular phone and smart phone devices.
Respond to Help Desk Tickets as assigned, track and resolve as required.

Experience/Qualifications:

5+ years experience as Network Administrator responsible for LANs, WAN, WLANs, routers, switches and remote connectivity.
Four year degree preferred in Computer Science or related field with relevant work experience.
Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, Windows XP, 7, 10.
Hands-on experience with Exchange Online, Microsoft Office 365.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services related to compute (VM), storage (VHD) network, and security (Azure AD).
Hands-on experience with Active Directory on premise and user account maintenance a must.
Hands-on experience with server virtualization using Microsoft Hyper-V a must.
Microsoft data protection Manager (DPM) administration.
HP servers and ProCurve switches.
Shoretel or Cisco VoIP phone system administration.
Knowledge of SDWAN, Velocloud, QoS, WAN traffic optimization and prioritization.
Knowledge of internet filtering solutions such as zScaler.
Experience with Desktop Management tools.
Experience supporting multi-site environments with remote users using remote access tools such as Quick Assist, Splashtop, etc.
Project management skills.
Vendor management and vendor managed services.
Strong analytical skills, problem solving and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in office and factory environments.
Experience with network traffic monitoring tools is a plus.
Understanding and practical application if ITIL processes and methodologies.
Barracuda email archiving software experience is a plus.
Spiceworks Help Desk software experience is a plus.
Data Center Hosting experience is a plus.
