Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled application software developer to assist in the ongoing maintenance and support of existing systems as well as the full life cycle development of new systems and projects. This individual will need to work independently as assignments are given as well as in a team setting working with developers of various skill and experience levels.
Responsibilities:
Working with the project team to analyze and interpret user requirements and propose solutions
Leading the development effort for selected Education Data and Calculations (EDC) modules
Designing and programming user interface, business layer, database layer and reporting components to meet user requirements
Proposing database designs for approval by the database administrators
Assisting with data migration from existing databases
Programming using Microsoft VB.Net, ASP.Net, JavaScript, XML, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server database.
Using the Visual Studio development platform
Following various established coding and database standards
Using AzureDevOps for source code control, manage work items, manage testing activities and documentation versioning
Estimating time required for development of application components
Reporting status of work to the project manager via AzureDevOps
Conducting adequate unit and regression testing for all developed code, and resolving any bugs
Making best practice recommendations on functional and technical improvements, and identifying and resolving issues and risks
Presenting complex technical constructs to non-technical users
Collaborating with business users, the project manager, the database administrators, and other developers on the team
Documenting, mentoring, and providing knowledge transfer to IT staff as required
Supporting existing CFRS applications that are in production.
Reviewing code created by other developers for debugging.
