QA Engineer

Role: QA Engineer

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Kansas City (Need to go to office 2-3 days a week.)

Description:
Key duties and responsibilities

Represent the Quality Assurance team on project development teams
Create and perform automated tests that span end to end business processes
Identify, analyze, and communicate product defects and assist with resolutions
Prepare and implement QA plans that include project documentation reviews, functional and performance testing
Develop and carry out methods and procedures for automated and manual product testing
Researching test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes
Evaluates and reports test results
Performs risk assessments and process improvement
Analyze test results and work with the development team to identify bugs and potential performance issues
Must be comfortable working in a team environment and support users
Monitor and audit SDLC Process and Procedures within assigned team

Required experience & competencies

Must have minimum of 5+ years of QA Testing/Development experience (SDET)
Must have strong understanding of OOP concepts
Must have knowledge of Async/Await, Classes, and Objects
Must know GIT, pull requests, branching and should be able to support testing of multiple releases in parallel
Must be able to write UI tests as well as Backend tests (API, DB, Filesystem..). One or the other is not good enough
Must have experience conducting functional, integration, performance, regression testing
Must have experience in designing, developing, and executing SQL server Database SQL scripts
Must have experience identifying application bottlenecks and advising the team for resolution
Must have experience coordinating/updating test estimates, time frames, etc
Must have experience in SDLC, Agile framework like SCRUM
Must have strong oral and written communication skills
Must have experience working with the Business users
Must have experience with various Microsoft technologies and tools including .Net, C#, REST, SOAP, Git, SSIS, SSAS, SQL Server, Microservices, Visual Studio and Azure Cloud/AWS
Must have experience with Performance Testing Tool Scripting/Test Execution (LoadRunner, HP test automation, JMeter, Postman etc.)
Experience in automation, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines preferred(Azure Dev Ops or Jenkins) preferred
programming experience in Microsoft technology stack (C#, .NET) preferred
APM tool experience (Splunk, AppDynamics, etc.) preferred
Financial / Accounting experience preferred
Insurance / Re-insurance experience, preferred
Relevant technical certifications preferred

Requirment: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry-related professional experience and education.
