Plastic Injection Molding Machine Set Up Technician
Willmar, MN
$25-35/hour (could go higher for the right candidate)

Our Willmar, MN plastic injection molding client is looking to hire a Machine Set Up Technician to their M-F 1st shift operations (M-F 6am-2:30pm). The Process & Setup Technician is responsible for maintaining, installing, and removing dies and adjusting machines and auxiliary equipment for proper production setup and operation. This role also is also accountable to ensure the process specifications for each production job are correct and quality control standards are maintained. The position will also be involved in conducting preventative maintenance, and repair on plant and equipment; as well as setting up and calibrating various types of production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Handles frequent production equipment & press setup changes & start-ups.
Communicates proactively with production leadership concerning mold changes, configuration specifications, troubleshooting efforts.
Serves as a first point of contact/responder to all machine, robot, thermolater and secondary equipment alarms.
Trains production operators to help be able to troubleshoot machine failures to reduce down-time.
Monitors machines and equipment to ensure they are continually operating at optimal efficiency to reduce cycle time and down time.
Troubleshoots machine, mold and material issues impacting operating efficiency.
Completes paperwork in a timely manner, such as process documentation and set-up sheets/checklists.
Ensures proper care of all equipment especially the managing and proper disposal of all system contaminants
Cleans work area and equipment such as thermolaters so they are tidy in appearance and properly maintained and safe.
Drives the reduction of scrap through elimination of mold conditions using corrective action and mold repair items
Understands and follows all OSHA and safety rules and regulations
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED.
2 years experience with plastic injection molding and large presses.
Knowledge of plastics extrusion and injection molding equipment and technology.
Ability to set up and maintain machines.
Hands on maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
