Summary:

• Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.

• Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.

• Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

• Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.

• Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction.
  

Responsibilities:

• Conduct the design, analysis, test, and integration of air vehicle subsystems, including but not limited to

• Landing gear, Steering, Braking, Flight control actuation, Hydraulic systems, Launch and recovery, Payload doors, Environment control system ECS, Ground service equipment - GSE

• Support definition of requirements for air vehicle subsystems.

• Manage functional and physical interfaces between vehicle subsystems and the vehicle.

• Performs analysis, modeling, and simulation to verify subsystems and components meet requirements.

• Support execution of component, subsystem, and system-level testing, including generating test plans and procedures, test execution, and analysis of test results.

• Communicates information about vehicle subsystem design, requirements, and performance between the design team, management, customer, subcontractors, and vendors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or related STEM discipline) plus 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).

• Demonstrated expertise in development of aerospace vehicle subsystems.

• Experience with CAD software (CATIA V5 preferred).

• Excellent written and communication skills.
