Senior PostgreSQL Developer

About the role

You are a pragmatic and self-motivated Developer who can work on your own initiative. You are a well-organized, detail-oriented problem solver who knows how to get tools, and technology in sync to support the development of the Data Warehouse. You are comfortable working with multiple team members while prioritizing tasks or asking for clarification on priorities. This is a hands-on position where you will be asked to do everything from building rock-solid components to mentoring other developers. You need to be a top software developer and systems designer with a good track record of delivering and excelling in communication and leadership. A successful candidate will bring deep technical and software expertise and the ability to deliver a service that has a broad business impact. You will work with the Business Intelligence Team, CTO, Dev Ops and delivery leads to design, evolve and implement the Data Warehouse at Booming Games.

Responsibilities

• Management and development of the Data Warehouse data model
• Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics and isolation levels
• Ability to efficiently write database code without compromising data quality, privacy or security
• Design of dimension and fact tables with appropriate attributes
• Implementation of efficient and optimal ETL structure and its refresh frequency
• Translating business requirements into technical ones
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Involvement in other ongoing tasks such as upgrades of PostgreSQL, and the maintenance of access rights for various systems
• Working with other teams to monitor performance and availability of data flows into the Data Warehouse
• Maintaining stability and accuracy of data across Business Intelligence environment

Requirements

• 4+ years experience in ETL and PL/pgSQL, Data warehouse concepts and relational databases
• 4+ years experience in technical testing, implementation, and troubleshooting in production environments
• 4+ years of experience working in Data Warehouse Design
• PL/pgSQL scripting e.g., creating views, functions, stored procedures and triggers
• Data Warehouse data modeling and ETL procedures
• Have an engaging and convincing personality with excellent communication skills
• Have excellent teamwork skills and the ability to adapt
• Fluent in English
• Have a yes-can-do attitude; you are a person who is a doer and not afraid to get your hands dirty who can thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a talented, multidisciplinary, and multicultural team

Nice to have

• Experience with the PL/Python procedural language
• Master s degree in Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience in managing multi-functional virtual on/offshore teams
• Experience in working in the online gaming/gambling industry
