Leaders Group of Companies & Associates is seeking a Junior Paralegal to assist with the management of files at our busy office, and to support the development of our fast-growing firm.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, technologically savvy, with exceptional writing and editing skills, and have at least two years of experience in a civil/commercial legal setting.
Experience across a range of corporate and litigation matters, experience with employment filings, hirings and transactions, as well as proficiency with document and systems automation are considered strong assets.
We need some help with:
Preparing, organizing, and managing legal documents;
Drafting pleadings and correspondence;
Submitting documents for registration;
Managing files and monitoring their progress;
Managing calendars and date limitations systems;
Other administration duties, as required.
Our Ideal candidate has:
2+ years of relevant, practical experience in a fast-paced legal setting;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Strong problem-solving skills;
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word skills;
CORES accreditation (or the ability to acquire); Corporate Registry System
APPRES accreditation (or the ability to acquire);-Alberta Personal Property Registration Electronic System
An understanding of the Alberta Rules of Court, in particular, document production and filing requirements; and
Experience working both independently and as part of a team.
