Job Description

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business areas. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of policy creation and the administration of employee and labor relations, handbook policies, and the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Assist in the development and lead deployment of employee retention programs including conducting stay interviews, facilitating focus groups, and assisting with employee engagement surveys.
  • Utilizing employee feedback, partner with HR leadership and Executive Directors to achieve and maintain retention goals and reduce turnover.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations and ensure a robust and compliant onboarding process.
  • Participate in and take initiative to provide process improvements to HR leadership on employee life cycle from onboarding to exit.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of employee personnel files.
  • Support and counsel the resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Work within HRIS and make recommendations for process efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with directors, managers, and staff
  • Participate in and identify employee issues that warrant further discussion or investigation.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements.
  • Periodically attend off-site seminars to maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR practices.
  • Attend unemployment hearings when necessary and provide support to the HR Coordinator with claims.
  • Provide support to Directors and Supervisors to ensure consistent compliance with the performance coaching system and development.
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • Partner with Staff Development to create and deploy learning programs.
  • Support campuses in the generation of DHS and DOH reports.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills and ethical mindset
  • Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Ability to change focus and adapt to change
  • Proficiency with computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or in an applicable major
  • A minimum of four (4) years working in Human Resources with experience in employee relations, retention, compliance, and labor relations
  • A minimum of one (1) years' experience working in a long term care
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory compliance including FMLA, EEOC, DOL, and NLB laws
  • Experience working in a union environment is preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must have COVID-19 vaccination and be able to provide proof of vaccination
  • Ability to travel to all locations as needed is required
  • Ability to lift 20lbs is required
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods is required
