IT Systems Analyst

Purpose of the Role

You will be dynamic, confident, and driven with excellent communication skills. You will have a natural ability to build effective relationships and influence key colleagues across the organisation.

As part of a small team you will take responsibility for delivering assigned IT projects and improvement initiatives with a focus on our business applications, data and process. The work will be varied and require flexibility in approach. In addition to your assigned projects you will also support larger projects being managed by others. At times, this role will work across both the IT System and IT Service teams and will act as an important link, ensuring that changes are handed over to service in a professional way.

You will be multi skilled and capable of adapting to work as each initiative and phase requires. This will include some business analysis, research, implementation, training and support.

The IT Systems Analyst will work with the Head of IT Systems and Security to identify business needs and efficiency opportunities that can be realised though digital transformation or process improvement. This requires engagement with customers at various levels to understand and discuss current operating methodologies, challenge established thinking and identify opportunity for change. All proposals made must be costed with an ROI and SMART measures with a clear business case to proceed.

The role is responsible for documenting our systems landscape with a focus on the core, functional and workspace systems.

Working with the wider IT team to ensure that applications have IT and Business owners, clear support processes and effective documentation.

You will actively look after assigned applications on a daily basis, which will include general administration, support and configuration.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting and improving assigned IT Systems on a day-to-day basis
  • Personally, manage several IT projects ensuring they are delivered to time, cost and quality with variances reported promptly
  • Produce project documentation including requirements, initiation, and support handover
  • General administration and technical implementation activities for systems
  • Ensure seamless service transition including all relevant documentation and internal training
  • Early life support of newly implemented technology with measurements
  • Be a subject matter expert for our business systems
  • Researching, analysing and documenting existing IT Systems, and Business Models
  • 2nd level support of IT systems and other technologies as defined
  • Work with the IT Service Team to identify trends that can be used to improve the service delivered to our customers
  • Process automation and improvement using Microsoft Power Apps and others
  • Assist with reviewing existing technology investments and identifying opportunities to improve performance and/or reduce cost
  • Provide cover to the IT Service team if customer demand requires
  • Create and deliver high quality and engaging training to our end customers for newly implemented technologies
  • Understand existing ways of working and identify solutions that make clear improvements

Through training, research and your own experience, you will become the subject matter expert for several systems.

General duties

  • Ensure that a professional, courteous and proactive IT service is always delivered to our customers
  • Ensure that written work is delivered to a continual high standard and that all the appropriate firm policies for document release are adhered to
  • Ensure that all information is kept secure and not disclosed inappropriately
  • Ensure that the operations under your management and control sustain the appropriate level of quality assurance standards
  • Accept additional responsibilities as specifically requested by your line manager
  • Ensure you always project a professional image
  • To comply with, and ensure that your colleagues comply with, all required firm policies and procedures
  • To carry out your duties in accordance with the firm s Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies at all times
  • To maintain high standards of quality of work, personal presentation and personal conduct
  • To hold a valid driving licence

Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation or equivelent
  • Microsoft 365 certification highly desirable

Essential skills:

  • Experience with system configuration, managing systems and system analysis.
  • Exposure to applications, data or integration and the associated principles
  • Skilled in the creation and delivery of customer focused presentations and communications
  • Experience working within an IT Managed Service (outsourced) environment
  • A good general knowledge of end user technologies, e.g. PC s, Audio Visual, Mobile Phones, Telephone systems
  • A broad understanding of technology and a good level of awareness of technical concepts
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Office 365
  • A wide knowledge of systems in the context of professional services

Reporting and administrative duties

  • Individual project and portfolio reporting
  • General IT administration
  • Data consolidation including manual analysis and correction

Financial responsibilities and authority limits

  • Procurement within agreed Project budgets with approval of line manager
